Edna Ferreira concentrates her practice on international arbitration and commercial law.
In the field of international arbitration, Ms Ferreira regularly works with the teams of the firm that represents private and state owned companies in international commercial arbitrations, predominantly under ICC rules. Ms. Ferreira was member of the team that successfully represented Carbones del Cerrejón Limited, as defendant, in an ICC international commercial arbitration, related to the construction of marine works and structure. The arbitral tribunal dismissed all the claims, and accepted 100% of the counterclaims. Ms. Ferreira currently works in an ICC international commercial arbitration, she is member of the team that represents Refinería de Cartagena (Reficar), along with King & Spalding LLP. Ms Ferreira usually assists the firms´ partners when they act as arbitrators.
In the commercial law field, Ms Ferreira has advised corporate clients on a broad range of topics, and industries, in matters relating to complex commercial contracts.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ferreira worked at two prominent Colombian law firms (Palacios Lleras and Brigard & Urrutia) in Colombia, where she was member of the teams that represented mining and insurance private companies in domestic litigation and international arbitrations under ICC and CCB rules.
Edna has taught and lectured on international commercial and investment arbitration at the Universidad del Rosario and at the Universidad de la Sabana. She also has coached teams that represented Universidad de los Andes in two different international arbitration moot court competitions. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has knowledge of French.

-Member of the team that successfully represented Carbones del Cerrejón Limited, in an international arbitration under ICC rules, related to the construction of marine works and structures. The tribunal dismissed all claims brought by the claimant and awarded all counterclaims and damages sought by Cerrejón.
-Worked in the team that represented a mining company in a multiparty international arbitration, under ICC rules, between a railway company and its shareholders.
-Collaborated with the team that represented a Spanish construction company in an international arbitration under ICC rules, regarding a FEED, EPC, LSTK commissioning agreement for the building of an ethanol plant.
-Member of the team that, together with the English law firm Clyde & Co, represented the biggest Colombian insurance company and an English reinsurance company, as defendant against the Central Bank of Colombia in a domestic arbitration under the CCB rules. The arbitral tribunal dismissed the requests of the Central Bank.
